Personality:

Vain - Even in the midst of a zombie apocalypse a man has to have class, or so Tripp honestly believes. While others may be panicking about a friend being bitten one could find Tripp fretting over a scraped knuckle or the lack of hygienic supplies thus followed with some excuse that a doctor needs appropriate cleaning materials...and maybe some shampoo. Beyond his need for beauty products, however, it is safe to say his self-obsession also comes hand-in-hand with an intense feeling of self-preservation. Anyone and everyone is zombie-fodder if it means he’ll make it out of there alive.

Cowardly - Tripp never was one to throw himself into a dangerous situation, perhaps another reason he followed the medical path as doctors usually come into the equation after the threat has passed. In the instance that he did have a run in with a potential killer, be it an infected or some person who is absolutely done with him, Tripp would rely on his charisma, wit, and whatever meat shields were in the area to possibly prolong meeting his maker. Despite being prone to hiding, Tripp is surprisingly good at keeping a level-head when something happens, though if something should mar his “perfect features” he’s likely to enter a bonesaw-swinging rage.

Perfectionist - He may not have finished medical school, but he’s no pushover when it comes to treating a wound or boosting one cosmetically. Tripp takes the needed time with his work, if not longer, to make sure everything is done right and looks good. Anything less he will consider unacceptable and will insist he fix the problem. There is nothing that frustrates him more than something even a little out of place. All of this carries over to his personal appearance, of course, and so early morning prep takes forever to accomplish.

Open-minded - Aside from being quick to judge based on appearances, Tripp has a high tolerance for pretty much everything else. He’s capable of seeing two sides of an argument and basing his opinion on which side was better delivered without too much excessive bias - the only exception being anything fashion related as this is a subject he is incredibly passionate about.

History:

Before the Infection

In youth he was known as Dane Castro, the eccentric middle child of his family in Maine. Through grade school he identified with and befriended more girls than guys and often was met with some scrutiny based on this preference. In high school he was far from being an outcast, however, having skyrocketed into popularity with the preps with the help of his charm and good looks. Those days swung by like a breeze - carefree, entertaining, and all the time in the world for his expanding social life -  but then graduation happened. With college over the horizon he had to start thinking about funding so he picked up a part-time job as a store clerk at the mall. Having had a longtime interest in being a plastic surgeon, Dane enrolled into a medical school and managed for about two years before debt started catching up. He dropped out to avoid sinking too deep into that hole and instead, with the assistance of family and friends, headed to the Big Apple to look for better job opportunities. What he found wasn’t what he’d been expecting. His medical expertise were utilized when he took up the position of an underground doctor for the local mob. It was relatively easy work considering. He patched up a couple brutes and made some decent pay doing so, but the income wasn’t coming in quite fast enough for his liking. When a perfect opening was left for him, Dane stole a considerable amount of wealth from the mob and immediately underwent whatever he could to cover his tracks - a name change to Tripp Venus being one of them. He fled to Iceacre, Maine, a relatively large distance form his hometown, where he first used the cash to pay of his debt. He’d intended to return to college to finish his degree, but fate had other plans.

After the Infection

No natural survivalist, Tripp depended on his neighbors, be they intentionally helping or being used as bait, to escape his damaged apartment complex when the victims of the bomb first started walking again. He quickly sought out anyone who could help him and was fortunate to find a group of survivors  who were trying to get out. He joined them, immediately befriending the brawniest man of the lot to ensure his own protection. The party managed to hold out for a week before disaster hit, various zombie hordes or surprise attacks causing their numbers to dwindle. The end was inevitable and took place in a building just a short distance from the Cherrywood Apartments. While gathering supplies in the wreckage of a pharmacy they’d failed to notice a few lingering dead in shaded corners. The survivors were attacked, and Tripp immediately urged his big friend to flee the scene with him. Unfortunately, the lug refused to abandon the rest and went back leaving Tripp to fend for himself in the streets. Had ‘The Cherries” not been adjacent to the scene, the doctor probably would have met an unceremonious end to some random wandering corpses.

Miscellaneous:

-The main focus of his complaints is usually how difficult it is to keep his look up with the hard times they’re in. Tends to annoy others with this.

-Has a tendency to be weary of others until he’s gotten to know them a little more. This is a result of being paranoid about his past coming back to bite him. (He’s overall pretty unhappy with how events unfolded. He essentially made off with a bunch of useless cash and an equal amount of potential enemies.)

-He’s less likely to throw good friends “under the bus” in situations, but should the need arise…
